Apigee appoints Stacey Giamalis as senior vice president and chief counsel and Denise Persson as chief marketing officer
Jan. 23, 2014 – Apigee today announced that two new executives have recently joined its management team to support the company’s global expansion and rapid growth. Stacey Giamalis has joined Apigee as senior vice president and chief counsel, and Denise Persson has been appointed the company’s chief marketing officer (CMO). Both industry veterans have specific experience with high growth companies in emerging markets and were selected to guide Apigee through its next phase.

Persson joins Apigee from ON24, a SaaS webcasting and virtual communications company, where she served as CMO for the past five years. Previously she was the EVP of global marketing at Genesys, a publicly traded company and leading SaaS provider of unified conferencing and collaboration services, where she managed marketing teams in North America, Europe and Asia Pacific. Throughout her career she built and led global marketing teams for high-growth, category-creating companies and helped take companies through multiple phases, including mergers and acquisitions and public offerings.

She joins Apigee from Adchemy, Inc., a SaaS advertising technology company. There, Giamalis guided the company on all legal, compliance and privacy matters as vice president, general counsel and chief privacy officer. She previously served as the chief counsel of several publicly traded technology companies, including CrossWorlds Software, QRS Corporation and LookSmart, where she amassed a wealth of experience in corporate and strategic transactions, intellectual property and corporate governance.
