Apigee Learn is the first free, online learning program for today’s digital initiatives built with apps, data and APIs
Nov. 4, 2013 – Apigee today launched Apigee Learn, the industry’s first free, online education program designed to deliver the skills and knowledge required for today’s app economy. Starting in December, Apigee Learn will provide a selection of technical, strategy, and Apigee-specific courses taught by the experts at Apigee and from the Apigee community. Participants can demonstrate their continuing education by displaying Apigee Learn badges in the Apigee online community.
The Apigee Learn platform represents a new breed of learning called “Massive open online courses” (MOOC), which feature highly interactive techniques that have transformed the experience of traditional Web-based training. The MOOC format makes it possible to teach hundreds of thousands of people online successfully.
“Apigee Learn is delivered in ‘MOOC’ format so that everyone participating in the app economy -- from software developers to digital business executives – can have easy access to a range of training and education options,” said Chet Kapoor, Apigee CEO. “We are excited to offer a completely open program that can reach an unlimited number of Apigee customers, partners and community members.”
Apigee Learn courses will be delivered over an eight-week period, presented in consumable video chunks. They will include interactive quizzes and other built-in activities to encourage participants to remain engaged and track their progress. Apigee Learn forums will encourage students to participate in online collaborative learning.
The initial eight-week courses offered through Apigee Learn include:
· “Create a Digital Strategy”
· “Build a Digital Ecosystem”
· “Create and Manage APIs”
· “Develop an App”
· “Nuts and Bolts of API Deployment”
Over the coming months, additional training modules will be added.
Promote Apigee Learn Badges in the Apigee Online Community
Apigee Learn participants who successfully pass a course will receive a certificate of completion and an online badge representing the new skills and knowledge acquired in that course. The badges can be displayed and shared in the Apigee online community to increase employment opportunities and demonstrate continuing education. The Apigee online community is designed to be the central hub for anyone building digital initiatives with apps, data and APIs to network, learn, and share.
