Apigee Enables APIs
We think APIs are great, and we are here to make them easier to use. Developers need better testing and debugging tools, Product Managers need better analytics, and Admins need better protection for their APIs. Apigee is a free platform that provides lifecycle services for APIs.
Our Features
Use the API Console to review the structure of the Twitter and Facebook APIs, learn the parameters, and review the requests and responses. It has request autofill and syntax highlighting, and snapshots you can share with others.
Use the API Debugger to record messages you send to any API. Review requests and responses, dig into errors. We're adding support for linking to recorded messages from forums and websites for collaborative debugging.
Use API Analytics to review usage levels, request geo-location, overall performance, which developers and apps are using your API the most, and core API performance metrics like response time.
Use API Request Quotas to protect your back-end from surges in traffic or accidental (or intentional) abuse of your API. Currently we support a global rate limit, and are adding IP-based rate limiting soon.
How Apigee Works
We Proxy
Apigee is a cloud service based on Sonoa's industrial-strength API gateway. When an API is enrolled into Apigee, we create a low-latency proxy that is able to filter, stream, re-route, and record all traffic in real time.
This architecture enables us to add capabilities to make APIs better, including caching, compression, and pagination to "mobilize" an existing API, IP and identity-based rate limiting to protect your API, and advanced debugging features.
