Today Apigee welcomes the InsightsOne team, and in so doing doubles down on big data predictive analytics and our ability to help enterprises understand consumer preferences, enhance the customer experience, and optimize business processes. InsightsOne delivers a predictive analytics infrastructure that is consistent with Apigee’s big data offering, built atop a massively scalable distributed processing foundation based on open-source Hadoop and an in-memory real-time processor.

We’re excited to have Waqar Hasan and the InsightsOne team join Apigee. The company was founded by the same group that built Yahoo!’s consumer data and analytics platform—recognized as one of the best in the industry and one of the first to harness big data to increase consumer engagement. Not surprisingly, InsightsOne’s customers operate in all of the same sectors as Apigee’s, including healthcare, financial services, telecommunications, and e-commerce.

We introduced Apigee Insights last year to enable our customers to harness big data and accelerate and optimize their digital businesses with context. Adding InsightsOne’s technology and expertise dramatically expands Apigee’s big data predictive analytics capabilities. It give us an opportunity to build on a leadership position in APIs by providing the only platform that integrates the power of APIs and apps with the agility of predictive big data analytics to help customers predict and adapt quickly to business and market changes.

For now, InsightsOne is offered as a standalone product; it will become part of Apigee’s integrated digital business platform in mid 2014. Stay tuned for more details about InsightsOne product plans.
