A custom report is a way to specify precisely what you want to measure across your API program. For instance, you can measure all API traffic generated from a specific client IP address. For information on creating custom reports, see Create custom reports.
A custom report is similar in look and feel to analytics dashboards, however the data that's displayed depends on the metrics and drill-down dimensions you selected when you created the custom report.
- Click Analytics in the main menu. The landing page lists all of the available custom reports.
- The Custom Reports table lists the following elements:
- Report name: Name of the report.
- Environment: The environment in your org from which data is collected.
- Metric: The primary measure specified for the report.
- Report Description: The description of the report.
- Last Modified: The date and time when the report was last modified.
- Click a Report Name link to view it.
What do I need to know about the custom report (classic version)?
Allows you to trade off performance versus accuracy in the report. Slide the slider to the Fast setting to produce the fastest results. When you do this, a smaller sample size is used to produce the report. Slide the slider to the middle setting and a larger sample is used. Slide the slider to the Accurate setting and the largest sample size (producing the most accurate report) is used. Because a larger sample size is used for the report, the results will not be produced as quickly as for the Fast setting.
Compare to Previous Period (for line charts only)
A custom report not only enables you to view data for a period that you specify, such as the last week, but you can also view data from a previous period, such as the prior week. (Displaying data for a prior period is available only for line charts.) In this way, you can compare data for comparable periods of time.
Select Compare to Previous Period to display data for the prior period. Data for a previous period is displayed in the line chart with a dotted line and marked in the table with an asterisk.
Time Unit value has been changed. The value of time unit for this query has been adapted for performance.
When you bring up a custom report, you may see this system message. This message appears when Edge resets the Time Period options in a custom report to avoid certain performance issues related to the volume of analytics data the dashboard asks to be returned from the backend.
Note that this issue does not occur in the beta version of custom report dashboards.
What do I need to know about custom reports (beta)?
Shows the range of values over the selected time period for certain metrics.
Click Analyze in the Summary table to see more metrics, including Compare to Previous Period and Analyze Anomalies.
If your custom report includes many rows in the Summary table at the bottom of the Chart view, click Table to access a user-friendly way to scroll through and display the Compare to Previous Period and Analyze Anomalies views of your custom report data.
Use the Show up to drop-down to control the number of rows you want to display in the table. You can display up to 200 rows at a time.
Select the appropriate time zone to display your report data accurately. The default time zone is set based on your browser’s time zone setting. If you are reporting on data outside of the context of your browser's time zone, you may want to adjust this time zone value to ensure that your reports display data along the correct timeline.
